On May 27, a roundtable discussion “Freedom of Speech in the Academic Environment” was held with the assistance of the Ukrainian Institute for Conservative Studies and Innovations, which was dedicated to highlighting the problem of censorship and harassment of academics by supporters of gender ideology and homosexuals. The discussion was attended by candidates and doctors of sciences, professors, lecturers, postgraduate students, and students.

The roundtable participants raised the following questions:
– censorship and harassment of scientists and teachers for their attitude towards people with sexual deviations by organizations that promote gender ideology, colleagues and students;
– replacing the authority of the opinion of scientists with the opinion of public figures and so-called opinion leaders;
– biased media that promote policies dictated from above by resource owners or grantors;
– self-censorship, which is nurtured from the school itself and is a major obstacle to the development of scientific thought;
– an ethical problem when freedom of speech is called arbitrary speech or ideological manipulation;
– tension in society over homosexuality and gender, which makes it impossible to focus on the things that should unite people: common traditions, the value of family and marriage, proper upbringing of children and building a healthy nation;
– Indoctrination of liberal values to students and teachers who participate in international educational projects funded by Western governments and foundations and implement the ideas they have imposed in Ukrainian realities;
– the need for all conservatives and pro-family movements to unite to educate society and write laws that will protect Ukraine from foreign destructive trends.

At the end of the roundtable, the participants agreed to further cooperate and develop joint actions to promote those ideas that will be organically accepted by Ukrainian society. A resolution will be sent to all participants, after which joint work will begin.
