ABOUT THE COURSE
To familiarize the audience with the phenomenon of Ukrainian Baroque partes music and the current state of its research.
The course is devoted to Ukrainian professional polyphonic choral music of the seventeenth and first half of the eighteenth centuries. – partes music, which is the first significant phenomenon of professional music of the Western European model in Ukraine.
It was during the period of the spread of partes music that the foundations of the Ukrainian professional music of the written tradition of all subsequent eras were laid.
In addition, partes singing is one of the brightest stages in the development of Ukrainian musical culture, and yet the music of this period is still insufficiently researched, there is little information about it in open sources, and the general public is almost unaware of this style of music.
That is why the course participants are invited to immerse themselves in Ukrainian partes music.
