Ukrainian literary scholar, hermeneuticist, publicist, nationalism theorist, and cultural critic. He is the author of 300 scientific papers, including 16 single monographic studies.

In his second year at the university, he wrote his first monograph, Oleh Olzhych – Herald of the Unconquered Generation, published in 1996 by the Drohobych publishing house Vidrodzhennia. In his fifth year, he wrote his second monograph, Petro Skunts. The Silhouette of the Artist Against the Background of the Epoch, published in 1999. With these student works, Petro Ivanyshyn established himself as the youngest Ukrainian literary critic.

In 2007, he defended his doctoral dissertation on “The National Meaning of Existentials in the Poetry of Taras Shevchenko, Yevhen Malaniuk, and Leonid Kostenko (Diachrony of Ukrainian Literary Hermeneutics).”

Research interests: modern and contemporary Ukrainian literature, methodology of literary studies, literary criticism, hermeneutics, metacriticism, national and existential methodology of interpretation, national philosophy, cultural studies.
